We are so lucky at Whitehall Rowing & Sail to be part of such an amazing community of rowers. Not only are people finding our boats and boards a great way to keep in shape and get some recreational time on the water, some are using them in an effort to help make the world a better place for others. The latest in a series of amazing stories to come forward is from Scott Leitch and Alex McDonald out of Northern Ireland. They will be rowing their Whitehall Spirit® Tango 17® across the Irish Sea from Ireland to Great Britain to raise money for cancer research.

This July (2018) Alex and Scott will be taking on a huge challenge as their row will cover 28 miles (or 48 kilometers) from Northern Ireland across the notoriously difficult Northern Channel which is a greater distance than either of these two men have rowed before. The duo will be raising money for Cancer Research UK and are dedicating this undertaking to Alex’s mother Kate McDonald along with all those who suffer from this terrible disease.

Upon hearing about the challenge these two are set to undertake, we realized that such an extremely worthy event should be shared and promoted throughout our rowing community.

We wish all the very best and safe passage to Alex and Scott! If you would like to donate, you can do so via the Cancer Research Donation Page, and stay tuned here to see how they do!
